The Kennedy Center’s Community Resource Center (CRC)provides opportunities for Charlestown’s low-income residents, especially immigrant groups, to develop self-sufficiency through information about and referrals to resources, as well as through specific skills and language learning. In addition, the CRC exists to promote neighborliness, reduce social isolation, and bring people together to address issues of common concern.

FREE CLASSES Our center currently offers free classes for the community. Participants can choose between Basic Computers (English), Basic Computers in Spanish, ESOL for Chinese Speakers, Mandarin for English speakers, and Senior-Obics. To enroll, please phone Jennifer Guzman at the Community Resource Center at 617-241-8866 X 1211. The computer class size is limited to 5 students per class.

Café.com which welcomes residents each morning with a cup of coffee and refreshments, and the use of our computers and information bulletin boards. public access to computers and the internet various celebrations and community luncheons, to bring together separate social and ethnic groups to promote neighborliness. Our annual winter flea market/yard sale, popular for both the residents who make donations and for the residents who are the savvy shoppers.

Individual assistance with job-finding activities:
Writing a solid resume
Practicing interviews
Learning to find jobs and make applications on the internet
Dressing for interview success.
Workshops on the job-finding process, resume writing, and appropriate dress.
Help applying for further education or job training.
WE ARE AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS BY RESERVATION! Our 2,200 sq. foot center is available for classes and community-related events. The center is equipped with 5 computers, internet access, printers, a full kitchen, 60 chairs, 10 tables, and a 42 inch LCD T.V.
We encourage our community to take advantage of our center and reserve the community room for classes, meetings, seminars and community activities.
